IP4620 going blank

I have several remotes sites that have IP4620 phones that are connected back to a 412 over a VPN link. These remote sites all have a Cisco PIX 501 with the H323 fixup turned off. The problem that I am having is that the phones will simply go blank. The only fix is to uplug and replug them. That forces them to reboot and come back up. Also several of the phones are having problems disconnecting. Even 30-40 seconds after the handset has been put down, the line is still active.

Any suggestions? The 412 is on versions 2.1 (31).

There is a bug in 2.1.31 regarding the gatekeeper. If the gatekeeper misses only one keep-alive packet then the phone is considered as gone.
It should be fixed in 2.1.34 wich is announced to be released the 30st of May.
