IP406v2 T1 PRI not working

Background:
Integra (Minnesota) checked their Adtran unit and verified everything works.

PRI Problem (ATM4 ports work fine):
With firmware 5.0, couples minutes after system reboot, can't make calls, phone keeps saying "Waiting-for-line". It will dial out a few times but never long enough to let the caller answer and eventually times out. Incoming calls always get busy tone or "all circuits are busy" notices.

With firmware 3.2, can only receive calls within couple minutes after reboot and only after system makes outgoing call first. After the initial couple minutes, nothing happens for incoming or outgoing.

Setup:
New IP406v2 unit with T1 Pri adapter in Slot B and ATM4 adapter in Slot A. (2)DCPx30 and (1)POTS16v2.

T1 settings (not listed fields are blank):
Switch Type: NI2
Channel Allocation: 23->1
'Not end-to-end ISDN': Never
Clock Quality: Network
CRC checking: Yes
Haul Length: 0-115 ft.
Line Sub Type: PRI
Privider: Local Telco
Framing: ESF
Zero Supression: B8ZS
Line Signalling: CPE
Incoming Routing: 4

All calls (for for now) go through PRI (Line Group 0, Line 5)
All incoming numbers are routed to correct extensions.

Any help from anyone is appreciated. I have a call in for tech support, but they have not called me back.

I can also post the system log if it would help.

Thanks,
GenPat

PS: already did numerous searches for this problem, in case you're wondering, but found nothing.

A monitor trace can tell everything.

Thanks Peter for the quick reply.
What do you want to trace. I am not an installer so I am not entirely sure which options are relevant.

If you are not the installer then you should call the installer.

They can fix this.
But just make a default trace and post it here.

A few things to check while you wait for tech support.

1. On the front of your 406 do you have a solid green LED for slot B indicating connectivity with the Adtran. If you don't have solid light check patch cord and also ask Integra if you need a T1/PRI cross-over cable (not the same as an ethernet cross-over) to connect with the Adtran?

2. Can Integra see the D channel from the IPO PRI card?

3. Did Integra make a site visit and make a successful call from a PRI tester connected to the Adtran? If they are only "pinging" the Adtran that is not the same.

4. To obtain a trace from your admin PC try Start>IP Office>Monitor and plug in the IP address of the IPO and passwords.

Hi,
Sorry for not being an installer, but I still need help. We did not like out installer years ago, who could not figure out how to page to all phones and loud speakers at the same time so I have been doing it since.

Anyway, here's the default log.
The end of the log is where the call fails, not like you guys can't figure that out.

Judging from the response from tlpeter, it must be correctable. Any hints a solution would be most appreciated.

Thanks, GenPat

Hi Ohnoooo,

1. Yes, it has solid green, and when it would work (during few minutes after reboot), the status light blinks during activity.
It's the same cable we used in the broken system, IP406v1.

2. That question did not come up, but I will check with them next. Would I also have to enable the "CSO Operation"?

3. Integra came out, replaced the Adtran and made calls through the tester unit on channels 1, 6, 13, 18, 23 (or something to that fact).

4. Already up in previous post. Please look to see what you can find.

Thanks.

You say old ip406v1 ?
What happened to it ?
Does the "new" 406 has a new pri card or did you use the old one ?

The old one had damaged power supply, which let high voltage through (don't ask, it's a maintenance problem).

I have 2 IP406v2 units. I also have a "refurbished" Pri card, and the one from the IP406v1. They both behave the exact same way, when they both were under firmware 3.2. Now, one of them is at 5.0. I have swap them to all possible combination. Same result.

Then the line is crap or there is a problem in your config.

The PRI has ans issue.. From trace u posted
38647mS PRN: WARNING:
38647mS PRN: LockToFalc 5, CLK_CTL 0x00
38647mS PRN:
38648mS PRN: LockToFalc 5, CLK_CTL 0x00
38997mS ISDNL1Evt: v=5 peb=5,F1 F2
39047mS ISDNL1Evt: v=5 peb=5,PHAI

At that moment there is sync.

F1 is inactive
F2 is sensing

PHAI is line up

I do see CMLineDown just before that.
It looks lik there is no sync on the line or not set in the config.

Check the line's qlock quality setting.
I needs to be on Network.

In the config, are all the channels on the PRI set to In Service.

Please call the company who installed the ipo.

bdelmar:
Yes, all channels are set to "Both Directions", "Any Voice" and "In Service"

tlpeter:
Clock is set for "Network"
Call to installer is also placed.
Integra is going to check their settings again.

I wish there would be something I can do in the mean-time. If anyone has any suggestions, please post. I would try anything at this point, as it can't get any worse.

couple more bits of info from System Status if it helps anything:
Alarms/Service: 8kHz clock source changed. Previous source was Internal
Alarms/Trunks/Line5: Yellow Alarm and Trunk out of Service.
