Hi All,

I have a 403 3.2.69 that indicates all the licensing is invalid. I have tried rebooting the licensing server, the 403, also moving the serial dongle to another PC (with 3.2.69 license server installed). No validation with any of these changes.

Any thoughts?

Have you checked to make sure the key server services are running? Do you get the red box, or a white box with a red X on your task bar. Have you confirmed the IP address in Manager for the license server is correct?

Did you perhaps have done an upgrade lately ?
If yes then deinstall manager and the license server and do a reinstall of both

Sorry it is serial....when we changed the dongle we installed fresh 3.2.69 on the new box.

Does this mean that you had this working, with this dongle on a different PC?

If so, I doubt you have a serial dongle - is it a 9 pin or 25 pin one?

Good question, That needs an answer!

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

damn, meant parallel. It was working then stopped. Have confirmed the IP, and changed it in config when we swapped the dongle to another pc.

cheers,

ST

Check firewall - run the fw.bat to automatically make appropriate entries in Windows firewall. Or disable firewall temporarily to see if the trouble clears.

Sh*t happens!

Ok we need to break this down a bit

1) Are we dealing with an issue with the key server
2) is this an issue with the network
3) is this an issue with the IP office config.

In reverse order
3) if you have set the IP address to the static IP address of the PC - there isn't much else to do. And, as you say, you've done it!
2) If the IP address of the PC is static and on the same range as the IP Office... All should be good! Can you ping the IP office successfully? Have you run the firewall utility (or turned off the firewall) Are you plugged directly into the system (if so, you'll need to set your PC port to 100MB HD cos it is an IP403). Also make sure you aren't using the uplink port directly...
1) The key server isn't working properly! - Do you have a red block or a white square with a red cross in it. It is worth looking at device manager and seeing if the drivers are loaded. if not, they are on the admin CD

let us know how you get on

-IPs are all static
-Can ping evrything from everythin
-Key server is installed, with red block running in task tray (odd that it is working and manager still shows invalid)
-firewall is disable and avayfw has been run
-symantec services all disabled (then keyserve service restarted)
-no changes to network port blocking or security policies
-all drivers installed in device manager
-nothing in monitor about not finding license server, this is is the only item with license refernce in it:

"27861mS PRN: TFTPServer::RRQ(from 192.168.1.65) nasystem/licence_list"

still not working! argh!

You do know that you must retrieve a fresh copy of the database for the licenses to show as valid in manager... don't you? Are the licensed items not working?
Mike

Is the licensing server a new install?
What OS are you using?

Plug in the network cable of the keyserver directly into the IPO.

Got it figured out with the help of my vendor, instructions are as follows:

-deleted then reimported licenses
-Uninstall Key Server
-Reboot
-Key Server didnt uninstall properly and still showed in task bar so we did a repair, then removed the dongle
-Reboot
-installed dongle, restarted service
-Rebooted
-Rebooted IPO

VOILA! Thanks everyone for the help.
