ip403 not booting part2

thanks for tips so far however none have worked
i have connected to unit via dte, powered system on and got the following
(loader version IP403 Loader 0.81 4MB - 2xLV160 Flash-120ns SDRam-10 CPU revision 0x0502)
I then sent the AT, AT-X2, AT-X3 commands and have recieved an erase confirmation

i have opened manager set the bootp for the mac and ipaddress (192.168.42.1) and pointed the bootp to the 403v3 bin file in the manager directory
i closed down and restarted manager and opened TFTP log
the only entry is
Fri 23/11/2007 08:47:15 Log starts
there is no other entry

the lan link is lit when connected to the pc both green and amber lamps
the green and amber lamps of dt ports are permanently lit
and the unit status led is red
I repeated above with bootp entry set to 255.255.255.255

i set the preferences to firstly 192.168.42.1 and repeated above then to 255.255.255.255 and repeated above

any input would be appreciated

Is your manager set to broadcast to on 255.255.255.255?

does your pc has afixed ipadres ? (192.168.42.11 or higher)

I had a 403 do the same thing yesterday and I was able to see BOOTP requests in the log. Do you have any firewalls on your PC that could be blocking it? Also, when I saw the requests they were coming from 192.168.42.6 not .1. I have no idea why - I wasn't really around when 403's were current!

An ipo can get an ipadress between 192.168.42.1 till 192.168.42.10
so a 192.168.42.6 adress is possible

192.168.42.7 is very common as well.

Do not use the Manager as a tftp server on this as the manager will only send the files if requested from a fixed IP Address.
Use a thirdth party tftp server like the 3Com ( do a google search ) and try again.
