Okay so after resolving one issue another one has come to my attention. The licensing is now showing as valid for over a week. But my new problem is actually something I have had happen before. The IP403 seems to not be connected to anything? when you call in it shows as connected but nothing happens, you pick up a phone handset internally and theres no dial tone. but I can connect to it via Manager and phones will connect. Has anyone come across this issue?

I can however, reboot the PBX for it to work again for a week or so. But thats not a fix but merely a bandaid till it happens again.

what software version?
this is probably the old issue of "tftp lockup"
upgrading to the latest version of V3.0DT will probably resolve your issue.

Runing Virsion 3.2 (61) what is V3.0DT mean?

forget it, it was an old problem on IP office with V2.1 firmware.
3.0DT is for systems using Index DT handsets

I woudld still recomend a firmware upgrade before trying to diagnose further

IF you have a 403DT (ipguru assumes you have :) ) then you should be on 3.0.580 wich is the latest DT version
There are also 403 DS verisons wich can go to 3.2.65 as highest
So you could try to upgrade to 3.2.65

DS is Digital Station and DT is Digital Terminal
What kind of digital phones do you have ?

They are 4610SW IP type phones, and also we are using some Digital Stations (4406D +).

That is a DS phone so you probably have a 403DS or a DT with DS modules on it

The system has the following:

IP403 Office
IP400 Digital Station
P133T

Servers

1x License server (Half duplex-Plugged directly into IP403)

1x Delta Server with VM Pro (this system also acts as our file server for the company.

Phones

3x 4610SW (IP)
5x 4406D+ (Digital)
1x 5620SW (IP)
1x 4602SW (IP)
2x 4620SW (IP)
2x 5410 (Digital)

The IP403 has 8 DS ports on it (which arent being used), which makes me wonder why we even use a IP400 at all? sounds like a good sales person lol.

So you all think the problem is it just needs an update? okay I'll do that tonight and see how it works in about a week.

Thank you all for your help

Update is always a good idea to try to solve a problem like that, but 3.2.61 is not that far off the last version.
Does that problem happen on ALL phones or just the IP phones?

I really dont think it has anything to do with the phones, neither the IP nor the Digital stations work. as well as incoming calls, if you call in to the company from anywhere it said connected but was dead silent. If you tried to pick up the phone handsets or use speaker it was dead, but the on screen display worked. and if you used the VMcol button on the phones it was dead. Its like the IP403 box just said screw it im taking a vacation!

weird stuff, I just think if there is an issue with the data channels, I know there was something that caused the data channels not to release and it caused all kinds of weird sh!t and only a reboot brought it back up. I am just not sure if that release is in it.

We will find out next time it goes down (or doesnt)
How often does Avaya say the system should be able to stay stable without a reboot? and is there any way to schedule automatic nightly reboots of the PBX?
