I can't seem to find a straight answer to this anywhere on Knowledge Base. I have a customer with a IP500 Rel. 6 and they currently have VPN licenses in their system in which they are running 5610's with VPN software. They want to add a phone but since the VPN License are end of life. What do they need? Just an end point license or upgrade? The VPN section in the manager is grayed out.

I have never tried to use the new Teleworker license for a R6 so I am not sure if it would work
you can try and get the license but I think you have not a lot of good chances as I could not find it any more in our disti list
the only option Avaya wants is to upgrade to a supported version.

Are you sure because I see End of Life was 2009---so there must have been a different solution after that time.

at the moment IP Office R8.1.63 is the latest and all of 8.1 is supported as well as one release below that which is R8.0 anything older is no longer supported with bug fixes etc. and it seems also not with purchasing more licensing which is annoying but Avaya does that.

You need an Avaya IP Endpoint license for ANY Avaya IP/SIP phones. The "Allow VPN Features" option has been removed from the extension tab in newer software releases.
