I have set up an IP trunk between two s8700s and the trunk is in service idle and the sig group is in service but when I try to place a call I get engaged tone. Can anyone help
What about incoming call-handling treatment? You may need to delete the 3 (AAR) digits on the far-end switch.... List trace tac on the far end switch to see if it's getting there, then you'll have a better idea what is happening. You can also list trace tac on the local switch to get more information.
Thanks,

Try doing a list trace on the trunk group and see what denial you get.
It may show you a different denial that will point to the problem.
Is there only 1 trunk in the group?
Have you set the extensions on the dial plans.
Second you can only dial TAC if you haveset dial access on the trunk form.
Third have you set route patterns for the extensions
Thanks ideal, have tried all these still no joy
The problem is occuring on an s8700 CM 2.1
We have several switches on site; 2 s8700s and an s8300,
i have managed to get an IP Trunk working between an s8300 with CM 2.1 connecting to the s8700 cm 2.1
butI can't get the 2 s8700s to connect with an ip trunk though.
