Should be fairly simple - I hope.

We want to route our IP Trunk call with G.723-6 or G.729 rather than G.711. And continue with G.711 on the LAN.

I changed the IP-Codec to the following but it stopped working all together (station to station included)

Codec Set: 2

Audio Silence Frames Packet
Codec Suppression Per Pkt Size(ms)
1: G.723-6.3K n 2 20
2:
3:
4:
5:
6:
7:

We have 1 Network Region (NR 1).
We have 3 CLAN Boards in NR 1.
We have 2 MedPros in NR 1

Network Region 1 uses Codec-Set 2.

I've looked at the ACM Net Region Conf Guide - but can't get it to work.

Thanks,
CJH

If I have it set up this way it works - but all our LAN traffic is G.729 as well.

Do I have to assign the CLAN or MedPros to specific NR's?

Thanks,
CJH

I was trying to cheat a little and get the quick answer.

Figured it out though...

Thanks-

It didn't work because IP Phones themselves don't support G723. You have to also allow G729 or G711 for a fallback.
