Hi,

I have a g350 cm4 connected via IP trunks to an older definity cm2. I'm using a VPN between sites with a Sonicwall on one side and a Linksys on the other. I have generated calls from both sides and they sound great. However, after a few minutes, the call drops. I can set up a constant ping between sites and this always stays clean with low latency.

Can anyone help me with a suggestion or two?
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks, My use of the CLI is limited. So my question is; how do I know what the Module/port is for ethernet 1 on a stand alone G350?

OK, phew, thanks.... I had my BP here for other stuff and we got through disabling the negotiation on port 10/3. However, in the webview maitenance screen, I still show it as "auto Sense". Shouldn't this go away?

>negotiation on port 10/3.

Great, now what about the data switch port?

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Done.. In the g350 and the switch. Yes, the switch was also set at Auto Neg.

If this does the trick, there are not enough stars in the sky for you guys. I'll post later with the results.

Did you have alook at the counters on the dataswitch.

Duplex issues will show as errors and collisions. Were there any? Is that number increasing?

OK. calls are still dropping ARRGG!!
I didnt look at the counters, but here is what I have and here is what i did. I went into the CLI and disabled the port negotiation. I went into the Sonicwall and turned off the auto negotiation. However, I do have a small netgear switch that the G350 plugs into between the G350 and the Sonicwall. It is a Netgear FS105. I dont know or think this can be set or Auto Nogociation turned off? Does anyone know?

Thanks so much for helping me!!

Joe

I just read through the install guide for the Netgear FS105. It seems this is auto sensing and is not programmable. Could this actually be the problem all along? Thx. Joe

Can you re-architecure this so that the swicth you have you G350 plugged into is also directly connected to the sonicwall, rather than through the FS105?

Yes, (I knew someone was going to say that)LOL. Im going there on Saturday to do this. I'll write the results.

Folks, I hate to bring up my old post here, but I still have this issue with dropping calls. This remote office is starting to get more users so I need to figure this one out. I have removed the data switch as Mattknight suggested and the problem is still here.

I made three calls at the same time to the same location. I had these up on speaker phone. I noticed when the first call dropped, the other two stayed up. eventually (within tem minutes or so), the other calls would drop.

Although this VPN is over a business grade Cable provider, I went and ordered a DSL line yesterday. I dont believe there is indication that this is the circuit problem, but I have run out of other ideas to fix this problem. If anyone can think of anything else I can try, please post.

Thanks so much,
Joe

Hi all,

I switch the sonicwall Firewall from a cable modem to an ATT DSL this morning. However, we noticed today that the calls are still dropping. Can it be that the G350 is just plain bad? We switched from the Linksys to the Sonicwall VPN connection to the Definity. We changed the speed to 100 Full. We tried just about everything humanly possible that I know of and calls still drop.

I am thinking of just getting a conventional T1 into the G350 at this point. I am open to any and all helpful suggestions at this point. as I would still like to find out why?

Thanks,
Joe
