Hello, gentlemen.

I am trying to set the communication between those different systems versions.

I am receiving "out of service" status from system 6.0 SP3.

I did the same between systems with versions 4.2 SP2 and 4.2 and it worked.

Do you know if there is a known issue to put an IP network to work between MCD 6.0 and 4.2?

I appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

I would doubt it being a revision issue.

More than likely PEBKAK

PEBKAC - problem exists between keyboard and chair

Well, if you were right I would not have been able to set a cluster and I did (system 5.0).

I appreciate your politeness.

So the question remains: Do anyone else knows if there is a known issue with IP Networking between system versions 6.0 and 4.2?

It could be a problem with customer firewal and I already ask them to check with the firewall's tech support.

It would be helpful if someone could help me with an useful info so I can discard possibility of being a problem between system versions.

I would do a STATE XNET ALL maintenance command. Let us know what the reply is.

Always look out for the next tech. because one day it will be you!

As I suspected, It was the firewall.

The comms between systems are "established" now.

Um, no. SIP trunking requires a lot of settings that are completely independent of clustering. There are many ways the programming can be wrong.

Glad you figured it out.

And I did provide useful info BTW, I told you it would not be the revision levels.

I know of no issues with IP trunks between those loads. I don't think I can recall any site where I had issues between loads with IP trunks. Currently working on a cluster with MCD 4, Release 9, release 8 and release 7 systems and even there I have no issues with IP trunks ( yes the work involves upgrading to MCD 6 0.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.
