IP Test

Hi All,

We are looking to setup 1 IP softpohne as a test on our system.

What we are looking to do is to find out if we can give users an IP softphone via a thin client connected back to a central server.

I know that we have 4 IP Licences on the Option 11 - SW 4.5

Can someone tell me what i would need to setup this test - I.E would i just need a Media Gateway card? is there a way to check if i already have this installed?

We are not looking to spend a lot of money on this at the moment.

Ip to IP you don't need a media card (but) you would need either a Sinaling server or a ITG Line card for this to work though.... (the phones need to register to some device)

If you setup 2 softphones they should be able to call each other.


if you are unsure if you have one you most likely don't have either unless you have IP phones....no need for it otherwise.

You will need a media card if you want to call any TDM set or to make an external call. Without the media card you can only call IP set to IP set. The media card is your gateway from IP to TDM.
