I have certain problems with some telephones IP model 2002 of BCM 400, when connecting them to the network they affect performance of the same one. These telephones are in remote localities and to arrive at the BCM they happen through a router, a test that has been made, is to maintain a "constant ping" from a PC hung to the telephone towards one of the servers at the central office and simply with raising the earpiece of the telephone the response time increases considerably, (the same situation occurs with another PC which is only connected to the switch, the switch is the same for the phone and PC); in some other sites the cominucación between the extensions of the BCM and the extensions of the another PBX is difficult, the voice doesn't continuos, even in dedicated connections whose bandwidth is of 128 Kbits and in the sites where the bandwidth is of 64 Kb does not appear this problem.

Somebody can tell me why happend this and how can I solve it?, please, Thanks

I'm assuming you have VPN between the sites? Sounds like a misconfiguration on the VPN routers.

No, the sites are connected through dedicated links, the addressing is with subnetting, the traffic doesn't pass through any VPN.

Greetings

It may be a bandwidth/QOS issue, depending on how many phones you have at the remote sites. A 64K circuit won't be enough to run one phone plus data, and a 128K circuit would barely be enough to run a phone and a PC reliably with any sort of speed.

I'll review the QoS on Monday, I guess that is the problem, in all remote sites only have only one telephone and no more than 2 PC's.

Thankyou Biv

Hi:

the codec used for the phones was default wich was configured like auto, I changed the value from auto to G.723 + VAD, I changed the jitter buffer value too it actual value is "large", after this, the communication improves a litle. I wish you to confirm if these chages are enough or I need to do something more and/or different.

Thankyou
