Hello,

I apologize in adavnce if this issue has been addressed. I did search and did not find a reference to it. Here is the issue:

(relevant) Hardware/config
Compaq proliant dual P200 server
3com etherlink 3c509 1Mbps NIC (only one in suystem)
TCP/IP is bound to this nic, class C IP address and defalt subnet mask assigned.

System = SCO_SV
Node = jss0
Release = 3.2v5.0.2
KernelID = 96/01/23
Machine = Pentium
BusType = EISA
Serial = 2EB004961
Users = 40-user
OEM# = 0
Origin# = 1
NumCPU = 1

Periodically (once a month) and seemingly at random, my otherwise stable system crashes hard. It becomes totally unresponsive, and displays this messgae on the console:"IP SPINNING on PCB F028ADA8" over and over. The only way to recover the system is to pull the plug on it, and when it comes back up its fine.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there a known resolution?

Thanks. David

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the next step is to figure out what patches are on my system and try to get uo to date. Not looking forward to it; it looks like a thorny task.

That's easy for you to say Mr. Unix. ;-)

The custom query piped thru grep (from your FAQ page thanks!) returned nothing. SCOADMIN>SOFTWARE MANAGER>SOFTWARE>PATCH MANAGEMENT>VIEW LOADED PATCHES shows "year 2000 supplement for sco openserver 5.0.2" as the only patch loaded on the system.

Then that's all you have.

You really, really, really need to upgrade this. 5.0.2 is pretty much unsupportable at this point..
