IP Softphone problem

Hi all!

I have problem running AVAYA IP Softphone on my PC.

I have softphone 5.2. The installation went without any problem, but when I try to run softphone I get a message:

"The default database for the Avaya IP Softphone is missing. Would you like to create a new database? (Softphone cannot be started until a default database is created)"

And when I say YES it offers me to save a softphone.mdb
When I say OK it displays me a message

"Unable to initialize DAO/Jet db engine"

Does anyone have a solution?

I would uninstall then reinstall softphone.

I've done that several times - didn't help :-(

It almost sounds like a permissions problem with windows. Do you have Administrator rights to the computer you are installing the software on?

Yes of course!
My colleague solved a problem by activating dao360.dll with command on
start/run
regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.DLL"

But when I do the same, and when I try to start IP softphone I get a message: IP Softphone UNKNOWN!

regsvr32.exe -u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.DLL"

then again

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.DLL"



In the future everything will work...

try remove the program folder and install again. its works

I just ran into this exact problem and this post pointed me in the right direction. The commands that I used to fix it were:

regsvr32 /u- "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.DLL"

then

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.DLL
