Hi,

I have KX-TDA30 and IP-EXT4. I used it with KX-NT136 IP phone and it worked flawlessly. But when I installed IP Softphone on a PC in the same network it didn't work. It connected to the PBX and I could dial an external number, but there was no audio (even after pressing 'SP-PHONE' button). I checked IP traffic and there are only packets sent between ports 9300-9301 and 2427-2727 when I pick up the phone. No other traffic comes out of the PBX (the router doesn't filter it anyway, because KX-NT136 works). What could be the reason?

Best regards,

Piotr

TDA30 has to be ver. 4.0000 or later

Can you connect and speak to an analog extension? Is there any problems in this case?

Telephone communication like an air: you do not notice it until you spoil it.

It is 4.0, because earlier versions didn't support IP-EXT4, so I had to upgrade.

I can connect from the softphone to analog extension or to external number - everything on the "signaling" level works. I have messages displayed on the LCD in the softphone, etc. But there is no audio in both directions.

A regular IP phone (KX-NT136) works in the same place, so it's surely not a network or firewall issue.

Best regards,
Piotr

P.S. To be clear: I mean the IP softphone, the software run on a PC to "emulate" a regular phone, I think it's product code is KX-NCS8100. I'm testing it in 60-days test mode without license.

Well, I think you have a Panasonic Unified PC Maintenance Console (UPCMC) to maintaine your PBX, don't you?
If yes, you can try the following:
1) connect your PC (with UPCMC installed on it) instead of PBX,
2) install UPCMC onto PC with IP-Softphone KX-NS8101,
3) start VoIP Test Tool (that is built in UPCMC) at both PCs to check your network conditions

Also it can be a problem of software installation, try to re-install IP-softphone under Administrator permissions.

You should to choose an option "IP-Extension card installed in KX-TDA/KX-TDE (License is required in this PC)" in "IP Extension type selection" dialogue window when starting up the application.

One more point of problem appearance could be at your PC-audio (it is just an assumption).

I installed older version - 4.1.0.133 - and it works :)

Perhaps v5.0 requires 5.0 firmware in the PBX?
