I can not get the IP Softphone to work, get error meassage tell me ,
Avaya IP Softphone R5 station not allowed to log into server
I have it on ,on the ext and password set
Help!
 
Check your customer options.

command:display system cust

Make sure you have enough licenses to support the softphone you are trying to add.

 
Redphone is right. It is under "disp system cust" but you need to check to see if there is a value under "Rel" (Release). If so then you are limited to that specific version. I had this problem when trying to use IP Agent R4. I was only authorized to use Release 1. Only cost $50 to have this changed.

You might want to check page 2 as well, we just upgraded to 2.0 and were told it came with free licenses, but you must have universal rtu's to use them. Check under maximum concurrently registered stations, ours shows 0 available. I have 5 ipsoftphone licenses, but when I try to login it says the total number of ip stations allowed to login has been reached. I was told we had to convert current rtu's to universal or purchase new universal licenses to make it work.
 
Your problem is with the lisence. You have Release 4 lisense on the PBX "IP_Agent 4 : 20 " and you are trying to use release 5, won't work. Get the new lisense from Avaya or download release 4.

Thanks everyone I order a new RTU for R5, and the IP Softphone works great on my network, but can not get it to work on VPN, can login and control the phone but ON Audio??
Have a cisco firewall, anyone had this problem.
