ip route vrf command?

I'm trying to set up static routes for some hosts so they can VPN out of our PIX to another site.

When starting, I saw the "vrf" option, which looks like a new command to help specifically with VPN issues. Has anyone used it, and can give an overview. I did a quick search on Cisco's site, but can't find any specific info on the "forwarding tables" it can create. It looks like it may offer a better solution than creating a ton of static routes.
