Hi All,

I'm currently looking into setting up QOS for our Hipath 3000 (V.4.0)..

Does anyone know which protocol / port numbers I should be looking for to mark?

Something tells me it's in the H225 family?

Thanks!

The three bits in the 802.1p field, which is part of the 802.1Q tag, are used on layer 2.
On layer 3, the six bits in the DiffServ Code Point (DSCP) field are used in the IP headers’
Type of Service (ToS) byte.
It is also essential that sufficient bandwidth is available within the QoS class in use (Codepoint/ IEEE802.1p User Priority).

RTP/RTCP (AF12) 802.1p field = 6 Gauranteed Service

H.225, H245, Real time application signalling (AF11) 802.1p field = 6

All other traffic types (DE) 802.1p field = 0 Best effort.

0 = lowest, 7 = highest

Thanks..

I really need the tcp / udp ports that the phones use since that is our existing way with our access-list

Call signalling H223 active voip via TCP client port nos 12250-12950

RTP payload transport active voip via RTP-RTCP / UDP port nos 29100 - 29159.

I hope this clears this up for you?
