Hello, i reading trough someone router configuratin and i try to understand something.

There is multiple link going to trunk then splitting again.

Each link between start to the trunk use IP PRECEDENCE to priorise voice VS data. Its the same after the trunk.

The thing that is unclear for me, is inside the trunk, when several voice link and data link get in, he split all the voice in one VLAN and all data in another VLAN, which isn t bad at all. But instead keep using IP precedence to priorise voice over data, he use SET IP NEXT-HOP xx.xx.xx.xx

so for mather of priorisation of the Voice over data, do that do the same?

these configuration are made in cisco 3550 with some 2801 and 3640/3620 at both end

here a litle ascii picture of it

________________ _____________
2801 ip precedence \ ________ /ip precedence 2801
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯\3550 next-hop 3550/¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
_______________/ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ \___________
3640 ip precedence / \ip precedence 3620
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Not sure if I need to put up more detail to understand.

To make it short, do next-hop command make some kinda priorisation between vlan

Thinking about it again, mais precedence tag still on each paquet, which wouldn't make sense to retag everything.

i got my own answer heh, sry to bother
