IS-IT--Management
Hi all, new to the forum and new to telecoms which I've inherited responsibility for by default (nobody else wanted the job)
Senario:
BCM450 (installed by BT on subnet 192.168.11 been in for years, no issues. recently upgraded to V6 software - no issues.
Recently opened up a new office on different subnet 192.168.23.
All linked together via VPN installed by Group HO using MPLS circuits provided by Alternative Networks - a division of TalkTalk in the UK
VPN is fine, I can ping/see/create shortcuts to all my servers except the BCM450 box.
Problems:
1) When I plug in a voip handset I get server unreachable (have reconfigured the handset with new ip address - leaving the S1 address as was.
2) I have no control over the (Cisco) routers, these are managed by Alternative Networks
3) Cannot call A/N direct - have to go through group IT manager who is not responding to my calls
Tried: - last night I connected my home PC into a legacy VPN (server 2003 VPN server) and was able to ping the BCM450, so my guess is going to be something to do with traffic routing/ports on the group MPLS circuits. So I need to shout at someone
It would be nice to actually tell them what the problem is and how to fix it.
Any ideas???
Should add - I've also de-regisered the extension(s) on the BCM450 - which is what a nice BT man told me to do , but it didn't work
