We have an IP Office 412 running version 3.2 with mostly digital phones. To this unit we are also connecting about six Avaya 5610 IP phones. Our config became corrupted a couple of days ago and I had to restore from a back we had of earlier that morning. Everything except the IP phones came up fine. The phones seem to have lost their IP addresses as well as their call/file server addresses. I went through the phone's config and set it back up correctly. It sees that the number is already on the PBX and asks me if I want to unregister the existing number to which I say yes. It then comes up and displays the extension on the phone. When you pick up the phone, though, it displays "disconnected" and you hear nothing.

I then tried deleting the extension on the 412 and went through the phone config. It created it on the 412, but I got the same issue.

Looking in the system log I see this (the extension is 299):

204024mS PRN: Recv: RegistrationRequest ac105d22; Endpoints registered: 5; Endpoints in registration: 0
204025mS PRN: RRQ from ac105d22 - CallSigProtocol is H323AnnexL_P. Go for IP4600 R2
204025mS PRN: RRQ from ac105d22 - Reject unforced-login as Existing: 017a2c4c; force-login: 0
207633mS PRN: Endpoint::KeepAliveTimerOut count=0 ipaddr=172.16.93.34 extn=299
207633mS ERR: KeepAlive TimeOut unregister ipaddr=172.16.93.34 extn=299
207634mS PRN: GK: Removing endpoint PBXMain_4923f3ef09b55210 for user 299

All of my IP phones are doing the same thing. I also tried setting up a new phone with similar results. Any assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks,

Phillip

Do yo have IP addresses set in the extension tab for the IP extensions

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

No, that is set to 0.0.0.0. I have another IP Office 412 that is working fine and the IP phones there are also set to 0.0.0.0. I see that I am getting an error on the phone accessing the 46xxupgrade.scr file. The phone shows an http 1-404 error, which I take it to mean that it is not finding it. The file is under C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager just like it is on the 412 that works.

I tried copying the 46xxupgrade.scr file from the working one and also tried pointing the phone to that server instead. In that case it found the file, but still did not work.

clear all settings in the IP Phones : HOLD clear #
Enable the autocreate extensions in system>LAN>Gatekeeper
erase the VoIP extensions
reboot ip office
the ip phones now will reregister and ask to enter the phone number

Thanks, Intrigant. I found the following error in the log this morning when I tried picking up the handset:

No VoCoder is available for the dial/ring tone to Extn XXX

I found some of your old posts and figured out the problem. When our config became corrupted we swapped out the hardware with a spare unit we had. The issue is that the VCM was not swapped out so we have no IP voice decoder. I did not realize that was hardware. Thanks for your help...

don't forget to set them back to G711 otherwise will use default G729, and if using other ip services disable direct media.
