Hi,

We have an IPO500v2 R8.1 in the netherlands, but also IP phones (9608 and 1608) placed in londen register to it over our VPN. That works fine, but ..... how do we get the phones to show the londen time -instead of amsterdam time- on the display ?

you could set it via the 46xxsettings.txt

## GMTOFFSET sets the time zone the phone should use. The

set it in the file, then reboot the London phones so they get the time settings and then change it back and make sure the phones do no longer get the file (erase file server info)

or use
## DSTOFFSET sets the daylight savings time adjustment
## value. The default is 1 but valid values are 0, 1, or 2.

Westi, don't remove it but use groups.
Tonny, somebody must put the phones in a group by using the craft menu.
Then in the 46xxsettings.txt you need to add this group.
Then when the phone boots it will read the text file and searches for this group.
Here an example:

As a heads up - not sure of what Keysets you're using...
We just deployed a server edition in multiple time zones, and I did give this a shot. Docs state the offset is for SIP phones, this didn't work on the 9600's I was testing on.

I've had a GRIP open on this for about 3 weeks now,

 
I've also got a Server Edition running into this problem.
Just upgraded it to 8.1.69
Has around 60 digital phones in the corporate office (mostly old 4400-series :p )
I've got 20 or so 9608 IP phones (h323) in 5 remote branches in various time zones.
NOW the customer wants the phones to show the correct local time at all the remote branches :(

Any ideas? Or do I need to replace the h323 phones with SIP-capable phones and try and modify the 46xx file on the server?

Has anyone came up with a solution for this, I am in the same boat at this time with a server edition in multiple time zones. There has to be some type of solution for this.
 
you could try and use my suggestion, set the 46xxsettings.txt with the value for the one time zone, reboot these phones then change the time zone and reboot the other phones and see if that works.
then you would have to make sure that the phones that are in the time zone you want to have different don't get the file any more by changing the file server to something bogus or have 2 different file servers right of the bat

But will the GMTOFFSET and DSTOFFSET commands work with h.323? I thought these were for SIP only.
