Hi,

Have anybody encountered ip phone unable to communicate with analog phone and vice versa? Meaning ip phone when calling the analog phone, the analog phone no ringing tone and unable to reach also vice versa.

Thanks

Hi,

Can you give some more info.

It can be that your ip phones are in a different network region then your gateway and that you did not configured the ip-network-regions correctly.

If there is no configuration between the source and destination region you can't make a phone call.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Does the ip network region matter if the ip phone and analog phone are in the same location?

Thanks

If the phones are in the same network region it's more simple to make them work but you can still administer them in a way that they won't communicate.

Make sure there is a DSP resource (MedPro or XFire Boards) in the port network where the analog phone is. Also make sure the whichever network region those DSP resources are in are able to communicate with the proper codec set to the network region the IP phones is in.

Hey thanks,

Just wonder on the data switch side what commands that may affect this ip resources by disable certain attributes and parameters ?
