We have a 200ICP with a few IP phones in our office. I hadn't set up a new phone for a few mos but I think I would just set up a new ext, MAC addreess in Form 9, plug in the phone, hold down hold (or was it and would get prompted to enter IP address of PBX. After IP address entered, hold down arrow phone would reset and come up. No need to enter subnet, IP Gateway, lan info etc. Now, it asks for subnet, ip gateway, lan info, etc.. It was so simple before. do you know if anything changed with version 4.04.9 mx? I have tried with 5010s, 5220, 5215 and 5224. Minet, not SIP.
Existing IP phones work fine. Thanks.

Is the system running DHCP?
If so, why not just plug the phone in to the POE switch -or-the power adaptor, plug in the phone and have the settings be applied by the system.

Then if you had entered the MAC in Form 9: the set would automatically come up with the extension that you had just created.

Or are you trying to set the IP phone up as a Teleworker set? Which then you will have to hold the 7 key as it is booting up, and then add in all the correct parameters.

One way to look at the existing phones information is to hold down both the arror keys - release one of the arrows and type in 2 3 4, this will get you in on the IP Phones to see what information is on them.

Thanks! The old press 7 when you plug in phone trick. How could I forget?!
We actually use that whether it's a teleworker or an internal phone. If it's internal, we just enter the PBX's IP address and it works fine.
I will have to look into whether the system is running the dhcP. It shows as enabled but maybe the subnet info is wrong. Either way pressing 7 worked great. Thanks!
