IP Phone has offhook loud ringing 2

When offhook using an IP 1140e phone the second incomming call has loud ringing isntead of tones.
Is there a procedure to change from ringing to tones?

It should be just like a digital set it will ring but muted,try turning down the ring. F*80 press volume down. And the tone is a PBX feature.

before I lower the ringing, will it lower the volume for all of the next incomming calls? or it only applies to offhook state?

That is for all.But a call ringing while on phone should be a muted ring.

Contact your vendor and have a case raised with Nortel.

The larger Option switches "beep" when you're on the phone and another call comes in. The Norstar/BCM doesn't have this feature, but the second call will be muted. I personally hate this when you're on a handsfree call. If it gets too annoying, give the user a Do Not Disturb button, or just program DND on Busy for the set(s) in question.
