IP Phone Discover Mode

I have two sites - primary and ESS. 

A user (with a 9608 IP phone) who normally works at the primary site went to the secondary (ESS) site to work for a week or so. (She did not take her phone with her.) She was able to log into another phone with her extension at the secondary site. However, when she went back to the primary site, her normal phone was in Discover mode. Trace showed it was getting an IP address, but would not communicate/connect with the PBX.

A reboot did not work. After reboot, it briefly displayed the login screen, but immediately went back to Discover mode. We tried a new phone at the same jack and it came right up.

Any idea what causes this? The phone was working before she left, now it doesn't. Why?

Try checking your 46xxsettings.txt file and make sure your SET VLANTEST 60
This will clear out the vlan to 0 after 60 seconds and allow a new IP address to be assigned.
