I saw this happen due to a port security bug that was related to the CATOS version. Though we had it from day 1. So if you havent implemented port security all of a sudden, you can probably rule that out.

Had this problem last night actually, we noticed someone else was advertising our voice vlan so we fixed that issue but still no luck. Turned out to be a bad RJ-45 tip on the CAT-5. Also are you running DHCP or assigining them static.

@gnrslash4life and @Matt91.

I removed all the port security, but still i am facing same problem, i coud not predict when the phone will get restart.the phones are taking the DHCP ip.

Hi gnrslash4life

no.it is connected with different switches as building wise.phones are getting restart in different buildings too.

How many phones do you have registered? I've seen this when installed a big number of new phones on the network and we had to change the service parameters in ccmadmin. I don't remember the exact name but it was something along the lines of 'maximum number of registered devices' that we changed to match our system.

When the device restarts does it give a message or does it just simply restart?

Can you post the logs from the phone. Maybe it's a keep-alive issue.

Were there any Network or Network security updates/upgrades going on at the time this happened? VLAN changes etc? Does a PC work on these ports directly?

Hi guys,

Thanks for your support, i cleared the restart issue.until now the phones are not getting this problem again.we have removed the port security for the affected phones and reconfigured the vlan information,now it is working fine till now.But the port security is applied for other telephones,which are working fine.Dono wats wrong with certain phones.anyway it is working now.
thanks for all u guys for the support.
