Hi, Just wondering if anyone has a shortcode to resemble the direct to voicemail feature on an IP office 1.3.2. Running vmail Pro. Remember in the Legend/Magix Days the Direct to voicemail was a programmable key. Now on IP office the best thing I see so far to resemble this is a short code for all extensions (That I would have to type manually! )

If anyone has had this issue and has a fix please respond.

Create a new short code starting point in Voicemail Pro. For example: VMTrans. Create a Menu and a Leave Mail action. In the Menu create a new touch tone for the extension range (e.g. 2??). In the Leave Mail Specific tab put $KEY. Connect the 2?? to the Leave Mail action. You can either create a WAV file for the menu, or not. I have found it is best to do it without the recording.

Then create a Short Code:

code: #56
number: Short Codes.VMTrans
feature: Voicemail Collect

Then you can program a button on the phones with that short code.

Then to use it, press Transfer then the shortcode button, then the extension number, then Transfer.

Hello, We have done just this and it works great. If you leave a recording off the menu action, then the system will wait for the transfer to complete before playing the mailbox's greeting. That way the caller hears the complete greeting. We also discovered that creating a short code for each extension would be an administrative nightmare since the extension name, not the number needs to be in the short code and a heavy turn over means touching the short code everytime an employee name is changed. One final thought the initial short code can be programmed on a phone's buttons for easy use.
