outside callers. has anyone ever had this problem. If a phone is called by the DID number and the receptionist is transferring a calling at the same time it conferences the two together. Has anyone else seen this?

I am dealing with this same issue with 2 sites. One is on 9.1.5 and the other 9.1.4. So are you saying 9.1.6 fixes this for sure?
It is not something we have experienced on either release so it may have some additional factors but Avaya will not look at it seriously without being on the latest release
PRI or SIP trunk may also play into it.

I have seen this before, make sure that Reserve Last CA (User-Telephony-Multi Line Options) is checked so that one Appearance key is reserved for the phone and no calls can come in on it.
