Guys,

I was asked to quote an IPO up against an Allworx system. I dont know much about Allworx but I did read through the Admin guide.

The potential customer sent me the Allworx bid for comparison, they are pitching a "Reach" feature that enable mobile call control. The customer only has 6 analog trunks and no SIP, does anyone know if the Allworx requires SIP or PRI like IPO to accomplish this?

If the Allworx is doing "Reach"with analog trunks, I am dead in the water because I have to pitch PRI to this customer to accomplish the same things.

Any insight would be helpful.

The Reach sounds like one-x mobile which would have no issue using Analog trunks to make calls via.

When someone asks me for a feature like that i sell them 3rd party endpoints, enable remote SIP extensions and have them download a free SIP client to thier smart phone. Works great and you cut thru all the one-x baloney.

We really only do small installs with analog lines. I have not done much with the one-x portal/ one-x mobile preferred/essential. The whole thing seems real messy and disjointed. I have a demo with all the licensing I guess I need to find time to play with it.

Pepp77, I thought one-x mobile used mobile twinning which requires SIP/PRI. I am reading the docs and show pri/sip as a requirement.

Mobile Call Control uses PRI/SIP.

One-X Mobile creates a SIP extension on the system using the data connectivity. At this point it is just an extension on the system and can use any lines to make a call.

You are correct though, OXP is disjointed and holds together like wet sand, I would go for the remote SIP worker as suggested, just pay attention to securing it :)

I am going to test the remote SIP worker, based on the suggestions here and the needs of the customer I think it will do the trick. I have used zoiper and xlite SIP soft-phones to connect back to metaswitch for testing with good results. Would these be good for IPO, or do you guys suggest any other clients.

Thanks for all the help gentleman.
