We have 1 customer, that within the last week they had four IP Office 406 (3.1) boxes lose the configuration files (went back to default), and some of the incoming calls were frozen.

All passwords have been changed from default as well.

Any ideas ?

What you are stating sounds very strange indeed, I would suggest that you disconnect the IP Office from the network for a time and see if the event still happens. It could be worth configuring a Sys-Monitor on a stand along machine connected to the IPO when disconnected from the network, when the box defaults you will see / should see some reason for it in the Sys-Monitor trace.

Also I would be creating the configuration from default and confirm your Locale on your PC running Manager is correct for your location.

I have not seen or heard this comment on the many 3.1(56) 406V2 we have seen.

Let us know how you go.

I would check the Alarm logs for errors. Specifically any marked "TLC Data Error". They and this problem can be caused by minor errors in the programming especially in a Small Community Networking setup. I have seen this happen in SCN's where each node has local voicemail (not Centralized) and has Voice Networking turned on. Also if the Centralized Voicemail is not used then the IP Trunks need to be in a Star format with Short Codes to do the call routing (basically remove the SCN) between the locations. I usually have one node be the hub and spoke out to the others in this situation.

The only other time I've seen this was when the IPO has taken multiple power hits during a very short timeframe. If the locations are experiencing Brownouts then a UPS is certainly called for.

Hope this helps.

When ipos were configured were they all done from default rather than 1 cfg modified then sent to others, seen this cause probs over scn, data base must keep some ref to the original box

i had this kind of thing happen before once. I was trying to pull a config and the network was to slow and when i cancelled the manager app i lost all of athe programming. I would agree with the fellow up top. disconnect it from the network except for the vm server if you have one and see what happens.
