Hi All

We are running IPO 6.0 (18) with embedded vm. SMTP was working fine until today. Now I am seeing this in the monitor

575150mS SNMPMgmt: Initialising communications to SMTP Server [IP Address = 199.193.204.99, port 25)

575150mS SNMPMgmt: EMail list is now 2 records long

575151mS SNMPMgmt: We have been disconnected from the SMTP server (Client Destroyed)

575151mS SNMPMgmt: We have been disconnected from the SMTP server (TCP Session Destroyed)

Any idea what this means?

I can telnet to the server on port 25 with no problem on the same network as the IP office.

That's a test but not an entirely accurate one.

Can you ping the smtp server from the ip office in system status?

Here's a witty rejoinder for you.

It is a joke now days, but have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot? I've found (with 7.0 and up, joined the IPO side when Nortel went away) that embedded vm will hiccup on one message and then just give up sending mail until rebooted.

We always use a local SMTP relay with embedded to avoid these issues.

We can ping it and we did a reboot. Is it me or is the SMTP service a flake
