Hi,

[IP Office Server Edition 8.1 SP9 with corresponding SoftConsole version]

We are facing a strange problem in all of our SoftConsole. BLF appearances are all but right. If we transfer an incoming call to UserA, the BLF show that UserB is now busy. If we go see in UserB's office, he is not on the phone but UserA is.

At the same time, the directory search function of the SoftConsole (upper-right) show some strange behavior too.

If I type "Smith" in the box, "Smith, John" appears. That is good. I press F2 to transfer the call.

Let's say there's another call, they ask for "Buck Rogers" this time. I type "Rogers" in the box and... "Smith, John" appears. I have to erase "Rogers", type "R", find "Rogers, Buck" in the list, click on it and press F2.

I'm thinking Firewall issues ? What should I look for ?

Best regards,

I imagine they have moved users around but not renamed the user in Soft Console, you must manually update names/users in soft console it isn't done for you like when you first create them. As for your second issue, that sounds like a very inefficient way of doing it anyway, why are they using the directory search function to transfer calls? That's what the BLF windows are for :)

Andy ,the upper right is the directory pulled by tftp from the IPO.
So i guess they moved users around but softconsole has not been logged out and in again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I know, but I never teach to transfer using that method with SC, always BLF :)

True, i do that too but some people do not listen and the search option should work fine at any time.

I have found in the search window you always need to delete the current search term rather than just overtyping it, overtyping simply searches based on the previous term, basically as the OP has found, but it's always been like that AFAIK :)

First of all, thanks for you inputs.

Here's some clarifications :

The BLF windows is a no-go for our receptionist because (her words) "finding someone in a 300+ user list is not efficient".

We did not moved people around. The softconsole act like that (show the wrong user as busy) for ALL users.

We logged Softconsole on and off (including a computer reboot).

This problem occurs on 3 separate SoftConsole installations.

Hi,

Here's some more tests I did (with -debug feature):

1. In the BLF section, let's say UserA show as being "busy" and "1 new message". If I enter UserA in the directory search box, details of that UserA show in the directory section AND the BLF section is updated for that particular user. If I close and reopen SC, UserA return to previous state ("busy" and "1 new message").

2. If I don't use the directory at all, and only the BLF for call transfer, the call is transfer to the right user, but as soon as that user pickup, another user will show as being busy and the original user will still show as available.

3. -debug file after those two tests contain only 4 lines :

2014-08-27 14:08:02 (2624) <---TFTP Request: nasystem/who_is(Queued:1)
2014-08-27 14:08:02 (5324) TFTP Request 'nasystem/who_is' sent
2014-08-27 14:08:02 (5324) ProcessTFTP for TFTP_BROWSE
2014-08-27 14:08:02 (5324) --->Process TFTP Error: cmd=TFTP_BROWSE, reason=File not found

Can that be the problem ? File not found ?

Regards,
