Have a client who is needing an external TTY device for a remote user who is hearing impaired.

We are thinking of using a SIP ATA to remotely connect to the IP Office. Then connect that analog port on the ATA to the TTY device.

Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Thanks!!

Cisco SPA 112/122 works very well. Super easy to setup. You will also need a 3rd party endpoint license for the ATA to connect.

That’s what we thought too. But we’re also looking at a soft-client that connects via SIP that has the TTY built in to it.

Thanks for the reply.

I have actually had weird issues with both the SPA112 and the SPA122.

SPA112 works great if you have DHCP but seems to refuse to take a static IP.

SPA122 seems to send the WAN port IP in SIP packets instead of the expected LAN port IP.

Just things to be aware of.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
