Apologies if this question has been asked, I searched first and only found this possible on ACM with class of restriction.

For IP Office, can specific users have Music on Hold turned off? I am able to set this up for incoming call routes and hunt groups but not individual users it seems. I have a customer that has a single users that is always on conference calls and would like to "hold" without having the other parties hear music. Any ideas are appreciated.

If it's not the systems own conference resources and as long as they aren't using the external MOH port, then you can.....:)

It's not the system conference bridge. They are using the external MOH Port unfortunately.

If they were using a wav file instead how would this work?

You can still do it if you have a spare analogue port. Make the spare port a MOH source and add a shortcode to that user that sets his MOH as the new source, as nothing's connected it will play silence as MOH for calls he places on hold, you could even tie it down to only effect calls to specific numbers like the Conf hosts :)

Star given amriddle01 ~ that's a damn good idea.

What is the short code look like?

The Analog port classification changes to:
MOH Source

And the User that doesn't want any hold music has a short code:

Code:
Feature: Hold Music
Telephone Number: h(hold music source)

what is wrong with the MUTE button ?

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

The shortcode(s) would look like:

(For all calls)
?
Dial
.h(2)

or

(For all calls if you dial 9)
9N
Dial
Nh(2)

or

(For a specific number dialled only)
0123456789
Dial
.h(2)

Assuming you set the spare port as music source 2. And the above code gets added to the User not the system :)

Thank you amriddle01. IPGuru, if another call comes in and the user wants to put the current call on hold, the mute button won't suffice.
