I am wondering if anyone has information about the ports that the IPO uses in more detail other then the simply what the help file has.

I need to know specifically what uses TCP and UDP or both. For example I have found one port lists only TCP however when we logged it it was requesting both TCP and UDP.

So I ask if anyone has documents or more information about the port usage in greater detail I would appreciate it.

I have this, but its from a while back. I think its all still relevant though

Phone Manager Ports and Firewalls
Phone Manager uses the following IP ports for communication with the IP Office. Therefore if a firewall is placed between the user PC and the IP Office, traffic on these ports should be allowed.
• Port 69 on the IP Office and the Phone Manager PC- TFTP
This is used by the Phone Manager to obtain data from the IP Office such as user name lists and the switch directory. TFTP is also used during the application log on.
• Port 50796 on the IP Office - IPO PC Partner
This port is used by Phone Manager and Soft Console applications to establish communication with the IP Office for call signalling, configuration changes, etc.
• Port 50799 on the Phone Manager PC - IPO BLF Updates
Used by Phone Manager to receive status updates for internal speed dial icons. These are sent from the IP Office using the 255.255.255.255 broadcast address.
• VoIP
iPhone Manager Pro uses ports 1719 and 1720 for H323 Gatekeeper discover and then a range of ports for VoIP. Therefore we can only recommend iPhone Manager Pro operation across a firewall when using VPN to tunnel the connection.

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Jamie77 Thanks that is the best bit of information that I have gotten. I find it hilarious and frustrating at the same time that the help file and documentation lists 1719 and 1720 as TCP yet you need UDP as I clearly saw.

You get a star!

I had the pleasure of speaking to a few Avaya "Management" staff from support the other day. I brought up the issue of inaccurate and poor documentation on this particular subject so let's hope when I send off the email information they requested that we see something in the future.

They are in the process of adding piles of tech support pdf's and articles and this is one topic I know they are going to address. Just wanted to throw that out there for all of you that have had the same frustrating experience with finding out the proper port detailed information for this platform.
