Tried to use a new Gmail account on an ip office to start using voice mail
to email function.
No luck, I take it google is no longer allowing new accounts the ability to use less secure apps
to connect. (The settting is still on the site). That is what I found on line anyway. Any direction on an alternative to Gmail?
I may need to convert some existing systems off Gmail if that is the direction google is taking.

Have you enabled TLSSTAR? Run a monitor trace with smtp and voicemail filters enabled and post it here.

You may need to enable smtp under monitor filters. Also, make sure you set the dns on IPO and have a default route set. Try to ping google dns from Systms status to check internet connection.

I have had gmail accounts that were allowed to connect via less secure methods, but gmail would still force me to login and approve the connection. Meaning I would check the box to allow connections and then have to go to another area to approve the connection once the first connection attempt got rejected. (Sorry I don't remember where it was in the google settings).

If you enable less secure apps, but don't use it, gmail will turn it back off as well. I have had that happen a couple times in the past few months.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
