Can someone enlighten me. I changed a few names in an IP Office with Embedded Voicemail and users lost their mailbox greetings. In one case, the name change for one use x108 name "NP" changes to "TH 3" and x112 changed to "NP". In that case, the greeting for mailbox x108 went to x112 and x108 was left with a generic greeting. In other cases for example, x115 (name changed from Med Office to MD 1) the users lost their greetings.
I changed the x108 and x112 back to original and the greeting returned to the correct user so I assume the greeting follows the name not the extension number. But in the others, the greeting were all lost (no duplicate names) and changing them back to original names did not restore the greetings.
Is this due to system design or a flaw/corruption? When you change user names in IP office, do the greetings for those mailboxes get deleted? Is that true for messages also? Can either be recovered?
Thanks for any assistance.

Mailboxes are based on the name, so if you swap names on extensions then the mailboxes would follow. If you change a name and that name no longer exists on the system the mailbox will be removed. This is as design.
