Hi all.
I have several users that are using the 'avaya' dialer program with their office suties. In windows xp and office 2007 there isn't any issue. I have download and installed the latest 'dialer' program but the issue, i believe is that 'windows' (7 in this case) doesn't 'see' the dialer program whenever I 'test' with the windows dialer.exe program. I've found several tips out there, including from here as well as from microsoft but neither has solved my issue. I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue, and can elaborate as to how I can correct this. I dont have any issues using the ip office program to either manually dial a #, or using the 'call back' option.

thanks in advance ..

I have never had any problem with tha Avaya TAPI driver and right now I am on win8 64 bit & Office 2013 PRO
The main question is : did you install as a local admin and NOT logged into any domain? ( better install without a netwrok connection )
In all cases I have seen TAPI not working it had to do with network ( domain ) policies while IT said to have given all local admin rights, not true though.

The machine IS part of the domain, however - I was logged in as the 'domain' admin which does have 'full' rights. I'll log in as a 'local' admin - but don't think this will really matter. I dont have any 'domain' policies around anything like this in any event either.

I've heard that a lot "no domain policy","full admin rights in the domain", but why does it always work when not in a domain with local admin rights?

Actually - the install would work on the dom-admin account, but the installer can't even expand the .exe file in order to initiate and start the program installation. strange, but the saga continues..

@intrigrant: Do you installed the TAPI also on Windows Server 2012? I've the following problem:
Outgoing calls: start correctly
Incomming calls: Nothing happend > no logs in a trace

Win8 is identical...!
