I have been advised by my company that after 6 months of working on the IP office (as first line support) that they want to put me forward for the ACA. I have already done the 5 day Implementation course.

I have had a quick look around but found nothing useful and was hoping one of the many ACA/ACS's on here would be able to give me some advice on what I can expect or where the best place would be for doing reading into this before the fact.

Thanks Peeps.

im looking into mine at the moment. (for about the last year lol)

have you signed up on the avaya university?

Yeah - Im signed on up there, I had to be to do the Implementation course and "exam".

Im going to speak to my Avaya Partner Account Manager tomorrow tosee what he can suggest - thing I'm most concerned (not right word ut closest I could think of lol) about is I have heard there are a lot of networking components to the ACA and I havent done much in that way of things.

Could you post a link to the practice exam please - its exactly the sort of thing I have been looking for (maybe I havent looked hard enough, but this would be really appreciated).

The ACA exam covers all components of the IPO and so you need to understand those aspects. If you have done the week long implementation course, you should have covered the data features. However, you do these on line at the avaya university - so it isn't too hard. You get 2 attempts as well

Do you still have to do the comp TIA exam? which was done at an external test centre, covered basic networking and telephony (sadly it was very US orientated when I did it with odd questions that didn't apply in the UK like T1 and wink start)

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

matt, did you do the ctp or the convergence plus?

I have found a convergence+ course running in the UK, going down next month for a week, Not cheep though but my company are happy to put me through it.
A good website is: It does a lot of test questions on network+
Not ideal but a good start i think.

the one i have been looking at is online and book, and then you just go to the testing centre to do the exam. its about $1000

Scottjc, where is the course you are going on?

>and then you just go to the testing centre to do the exam. its about $1000

If I recall correctly, I paid about £75 for the exam

Have they changed it that much? as the one I did was not hard at all (90 min exam - I finished it about 25 and scored over 85%)

I've just looked on the Avaya Univ website, and the exam I did - Communications network Associate, has been retired. So, as usual, I've been talking b****cks
