We have a multi-tenant application and was wondering about MOH.

If we were to use internal file based MOH (up to 90 seconds per file), can we still use the Audio Jack to supply a separate MOH for some of the clients?

I have read some other posts, but it was unclear. The documentation (HELP file) shows:


System Source: Default = WAV File.
Selects the default hold music source for most uses of music on hold. For pre-Release 8.1 systems, changes to this setting require a reboot. For IP Office Server Edition this field is only useable on IP Office Server Edition Expansion System (V2) systems, on all others IP Office Server Edition units it is set to WAV File only.

· WAV File:
Use the WAV file holdmusic.wav. This file is loaded via TFTP.

· External: Release 3.1+.
Use the audio source connected to the back of the control unit. This causes the system to not load the holdmusic.wav file via TFTP when rebooted. Previous the presence of a holdmusic.wav file loaded onto the system automatically overrode the use of the control units external source.

Yes. You should have the ability to use a separate source per incoming call route or per hunt group.

Yes. The Audio Jack would be the "system source". You can the specify 3 alternate WAV (WAV:Music.wav) file, or Analog MOH (XTN:207) sources for other groups, incoming call routes.

Have never worked with an analog port (XTN:xxx).. Didn't see that in documentation either.

Yeah I forget which release it came out on. I've only used it once and it worked OK. Just hook up a suitable 600ohm moh source to an rj45 jack, using the center pairs for tip/ring.

Analog Extension Port
The audio input from an analog extension port can also be used as any of the 3 alternate sources. The analog extension must be one that has had its Equipment Classification (Extension | Analog) set to MOH Source.

XTN:
Any analog extension with its Equipment Classification set as MOH Source can be entered as the alternate source. Enter XTN: followed by the extension's Base Extension number. For example XTN:224.

Could be that it is described for analogue extensions. There you have to configure the extension as MOH device first.

OK. So bottom line:

I can connect an external music source to the external jack and also use a WAV file. Correct?

I'm not worried about the XTN MOH due to no analog station ports..

I am not sure if you can but why don't you just try first and then ask here? That is the path I would follow...

You can set one source to system hold source (external audio), and the other huntgroups or incoming call routes to the alternate sources.

You can also set the holdmusic to use in the short codes for outbound dialing.
