IP Office 500 V2 R8.1 VLAN issue with 3com switch, nortel phone works fine, Avaya, finding router

We have a scenario here, there are 2 VLANs , Voice VLAN 6 and Data which is VLAN 4.. Customer is using 3com switch, all Nortel phones are working perfectly with Voice VLAN , however, when we connect the Avaya phones (1608), it keeps on finding router and its not registering at all. All avaya phones are already configure for VLAN 6, however, when we configure the avaya phone to vlan 4, it works perfectly. Any ideas?

did you give them the gateway/router address as part of the static config? Can the system (SSA) ping the handsets?
