Hi.

I am trying to force calls to go to an auto-attendant while the office is closed. Just a message with "press 1 to repeat".

I have the Out OF Hours fallback for the incoming group set to a dummy extension 400.
The Dummy extension is forwarded permanently to a shortcode of 450.

Shortcode 450 is set to Auto Attendant with a number of AA:COVID.00 - Covid is the name of the auto-attendant message. When the shortcode is dialled, I just get to the message prompt "The here the recording press 1, to change press 2 etc", I don't get the message itself. I've tried AA:COVID, and just get a silence. I've tried AA:COVID.1 etc.

Any pointers on how to get to the message with the short code?

Thanks.

The short code should include quotation marks, ie. "AA:COVID"

But if you're using out of hours to set it, why not just set it as the destination in the incoming call route rather than via a dummy user.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks.

I had tried putting the short code directly into the fallback OOH box, but had the same result.

I am struggling a little here - I had tried quotation marks and with out, same result.

I just get silence, with a slight clicking. I am wondering if I possibly have not recorded the message in the correct place?

I have recorded using the short code *8101, which I thought was the first auto-attendant message, which I renamed COVID.

I am not too sure what the shortcodes do?
There is *81xx = "AA:"N".1" which I assumed by dialling *8101 would record message 1?
There is *801xx = "AA:"N".01" - This I am not sure? Is this still message 1? This has no message recorded compared to *81xx. If I try to record by pressing 2, I get function failed.

I am trying this out on a spare system I have, and I uploaded the config to it. I wonder if the SD card is not correctly provisioned?

Any advice would be great!

Is your Auto Attendant actually named "Covid.00" or just "Covid" ?

Did you forward 400 Including Hunt Group Calls ?

The Short Code 450 should be 450 / Auto Attendant / AA:Covid / 0

Record the message with *8401 (assuming it is AA Number 01). DON'T record anything in *8101, *8201, or *8301

Thanks for that.

I have had a good play this afternoon with the spare CCU, and realised my error was recording message 1 and not message 4.

What are the shortcodes that are created for?

*8101 is morning (assumes 01 is the AA in question),
*8201 is afternoon,
*8301 is evening.

*8401 is direct to the menu options of the AA.

I am not sure on the below.
*800xx (is this the message for a 0?)
*801xx (message for a 1?)
*802xx upto *809xx

*850xx (message 10??)
*851xx (message 11??)

I've not used auto attendant at all. Currently just using the mailboxes.

I will continue to play between sunny trips to the garden!

Thanks.

Although.

Just tried to record message *8401 and I'm getting "function failed to complete". Deleting the auto-attendant and adding it again has sorted that. Now working as expected. That didn't take long [censored]

Lets say you create 3 Time Profiles:
Morning: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday through Friday
Afternoon: 12:01 PM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Evening:
5:01 PM to 11:59 PM Monday through Friday
12:00 AM to 7:59 AM Monday through Friday
12:00 AM to 11:59 PM Sunday,Saturday

Now you put each profile in your auto attendant.
You record *8101 as "Good Morning! Thank you for calling XZY Company"
You record *8201 as "Good Afternoon! Thank you for calling XYZ Company"
You record *8301 as "Thank you for calling XYZ Company. You've reached us after business hours"
You record *8401 as "If you know your party's extension number, please dial it now. To repeat this message, press #"

Depending on when the call is received, you hear the beginning message controlled by the Time Profile, followed by the *8401 message. If you press # to replay the menu greeting, it only replays the *8401 section.

Would I ever use the *8101/*8201/*8301 setup? Nope.

Also - feel free to press F1 at any time:
Four system short codes (*81XX, *82XX, *83XX and *84XX) are automatically added for use with all auto attendants, for the morning, afternoon, evening and menu options greetings respectively. These use a telephone number of the form "AA:" N" . Y " where N is the replaced with the auto attendant number dialed and Y is 1, 2, 3 or 4 for the morning, afternoon, evening or menu option greeting.

For IP Office deployed in a Enterprise Branch environment, the short codes *800XX, *801XX…*809XX, *850XX, and *851XX are automatically created for recording a Page prompt.

Thanks. Makes sense. F1 has taught me the purpose of the other short codes :). I’ve also played with the time schedules and pre-amble type messages.

Cheers.
