Hi,
We had a go at getting the Avaya IP Office 500 talking to our contact center solution last week, unfortunately we weren't completely successful.
Standard SIP trunks are used to communicate between the two units.
For a first test, I wanted to get it so that our contact center system could ring an Avaya extension.
The first hurdle is that the only way we could make this happen was by setting the Local URI on the SIP trunk to the extension that we wanted to call. I.e. if the SIP Peer (our system) wants to ring 5112, then the SIP Trunk configuration on the avaya must have a Local URI of 5112 for it to ring, otherwise it says that it can't recognise the URI.
You get an error like this :
"Present Call, no match from URI in Request Line "
By adding 5112 to the Local URI in the Sip Trunk, it worked... obviously that's not entirely practical - i'd need to set up one for every extension but more worryingly, it's guaranteed that people will want to get our contact center solution to make out bound calls to any number on the PSTN.
Is it possible to put some kind of Wild Card in the local uri field?
Secondly...
Having put the above in as a test, we got the phone to ring, but then it failed to complete the connection process.
The sequence is correct to start with:
-> INVITE
<- Trying
<- Ringing
At this point RTP media starts coming from the Avaya to our system.
Following this there's silence on the phone for about 20 seconds and then the phone hangs up and I get:
<- 503 Service Unavailable
back from the Avaya.
To clarify: this is the SIP Peer asking the Avaya to ring an extension.
I do see some timeouts in the log, an extract of which is below - taken from just below the "Ringing" to where it decides to send Service Unavailable.
The timeouts seem to be while it's trying to do something with STUN - I don't need STUN, it's all local on the same network (the machines are about 3ft apart). Am I barking up the wrong tree or is it possible to disable STUN?
Thanks in Advance
Matt Peddlesden
