I have a 5610 that seems to need some files, I have the files on my laptop and set the tftp ip to my laptop but the set just says please wait. I look in the tftp log and see that the message states unable to send. what is am I missing.

In the no user source number add ALLOW_5410_UPGRADES also set the file write to your pc's IP address

Allow 5410 Upgrades is for 5410s. It looks like he is after 5610 upgrade. But perhaps he typed it in wrong.

Well if you have another ip phone then you can check the tftp log to see if it is sent some files. If not then you have some possible port blocking on your network. Perhaps a network firewall.

You can manually config the phone with ip addresses including tftp address to see if the situation improves. Press * when it prompts after power cycling the phone.

I'm sorry, I did type this wrong it is a 5410 digital, and once you plug the set in it says please wait and stays there. I have tried to rest the phone but it doesn't seem to want to do anything.

Ignore me (no, please do), brain stuck in v2 rut. Long day of installing/deinstalling phones on test rig does that to a fella.

Are you replacing a bad phone or adding 1? If you are replacing one and the port is on the IP500 you can try another port. Or you can reboot/power cycle the IP500..I have seen that once files were transfered to a phone- 5410 and it had to be replaced, the port will not allow any file to be transferred untill the IP500 was rebooted.
