Hi all,

We purchased an IP Office with a number of teleworker and power user licenses, wondering if this entitles us to a softphone?

I understand we can setup One X Portal - but not exactly sure what this will give us or were to download from?

I installed Phone manager on a users desktop that had the power user license(But phone manager still stated it was phone manager lite)??

Searched for a softphone on the avaya website but the only one I find required an avaya account ?

Am I mising something or a few things?

I found the IP Office video softphone - but when I enter login details I am prompted for a License key??

You need to set a profile at the user.
It is a dropdown box.
Or double click on the license and add the user.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You need to speak to the people who sold you the kit, getting this stuff working isn't easy. And you should not buy something without knowing what it does or how to work it really, out of curiosity why did you but those licences without knowing what they give you? :)

Thanks amriddle01,

We spoke with the integrator but they are very slow to respond. I do know what the licenses are for but just needed some clarification as stuff just didnt work as expected.

System was setup by integrator, we then purchased a few Power user licenses which to my understanding give you all functionality? Including softphone and video phone? Am I wrong?

I could only find the Video softphone on the avaya website, and installed okay - but when I enter the IP Office IP Address and enter my extension which has been assigned the power user licenses, I receive the popup asking for a license? This is what I dont understand!!

Also having a power user licnese allows you to use oneX portal (my question is does this give you a softphone function or just call management)

Peter has given you the answer above, you need to assign the licences to the users who need them, just having the licence installed isn't enough :)

That's the problem I have already assigned the license to the user (power user) , I know it's not enough to just install the license

Excellent thanks for your help - Issue resolved. I didnt realize you had to enter http:// in front of the IP Office IP address. The error message completely through me.

Which did you enter have to enter http://

or

https://

to make the softphone work?

I have entered address of phone system, and I am able to get past the login screen, (it logs my deskphone off, like it says it will), but I then get an error
Account: Account 1 Could not be enabaled

???

You have other issues.
I have been working with the softphone for two days and none of the times, that i needed to login, i have entered http://

Hi,

If you have the Teleworker or Power User license, you just have to check if the SIP options were enable before.

In the user, just set the User Name and Password, set the profile user and Softphone option.

After this settings, the ipoffice automatically creates a new SIP user for you. This user cannot be modified.

Just check it all.
