anyone ever had trouble with elev phones programed for ringdown phones,when they push the button it goes where it is suppose to go too but when security calls back it doesnt ring the elevphone, we talked to Viking and Catalyst and they said the IP500 doesnt push enough power any thoughts

BS if you ask me. We are not having the 1935 analog bells on the phones any more and if the REN is lower than the maximum of the one supported by IP office then there is no valid reason for it not to ring. Check the white paper for the Viking and see if it mentions the REN, my guess is that it will be somewhere in the range of 0.1
You could also change the analog settings on the port and set it to a different locale other than North America but 90V AC should make any electronic Bell ring
