Heard some rumors that the IP office R5 allows for consoles to fail over to one another, yet I cannot find any references in the documentation. Can someone please confirm or deny this feature?

Search for resiliency, that is something else as redundancy!

You can setup a resilient ipo by SCN
Then IP phones will register to the other ipo when they can not do that on there home ipo.

Tested and approved, if you have 2 IPO (or more) in a SCN network, IP Endpoints will connect the 2nd one if the main comes to fail (in about 3 minutes).

I second that. Works great. Shame you have to reboot all the IP phones again to get them back on the original system again...

Just use System Monitor to reset the handsets or have you tried that :)

Yeah what I meant was it would be nice it it was automatically restored, or at least have the option.

That works, i have tested it :)
Tried it with a 3720 and 3725 too with a second ipo programmed in the master RBS but that did not work very well.

You then need to try to get dialtone which you do not get, hang up and try again.
Mostly you get a dialtone then.

Thanks for all the responses. We are looking to design a topology based this feature but it appears that external voice gateways are in order (4 PRI circuits, two in each cabinet, will be prohibitively expensive). We have existing Cisco VG200 gateways that would be perfect if they will play nice with Avaya. Anybody worked with this configuration?? I have posted this question in another thread as well. Thanks for all of your input.
