Hey, I purchased an IP Office 403 unit off EBay to replace my trusty old NEC E-Pro key system that got fried by lightning. It came with the ATM4 module and a PRI module installed, running 3.1.65 software. I upgraded it to version 3.2.69 (the last version of 3.2 offered). Now, it says it has 2 PRI modules, it thinks the ATM4 is a PRI30. How do I go about fixing this? Also when I try doing the eraseconfig and erasenvconfig from the DTE port to default it, it doesn't actually default. Any help would be appreciated. S88XX Aura I understand, this not so much, first time I have played with IP Office!

Remove the trunk cards and then apply a factory default. Then replace the ATM first in slot B start up ipo and then replace the BRI

Ok, I went in and removed the ATM4 and PRI modules, perfomed the eraseconfig and erasenvconfig, rebooted and it appears to come up clean, with no detected PRI/AT modules. Powered it off again, reinstalled the ATM4 module, powered it up and it comes up with a PRI30 module installed. The unit had version 3.1.65 on it when it came and was configured with an ATM4 and a PRI. Since the upgrade to 3.2.69 it thinks that module is a PRI30 (shows as line 5 in config). Is this unit not supposed to work with this software load?? Whats the next step, get my hands on another ATM4 module or is there firmware for updating them too?

Here's the latest output from a reboot on the DTE port:

There is no firmware for the ATM cards, it will be provided from IP Office internal.
I have no experience with ATM trunk cards on itself ( we don't have analog trunks here for about ten years ) but my guess is that the card is too old and replaced with a newer version. There should be a partnumber on the card, goggle with that number and see what you can find.

running 3.1.65 software. I upgraded it to version 3.2.69

You did step through the 3.1.99 loader didn't you? Odd things happen if you don't

The ATM card should just work - even if it is a Network Alchemy one. There was a ATM card that needed above a certain firmware revision, but that was down in the V2 builds

Are you 100% certain the you've got the card seated correctly? If you get the pins misaligned it can report teh card incorrectly

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

No, I didn't go through the 3.1.99 version. Can you upgrade in reverse, go back to 3.1.65 then do the 3.1.99 and then the 3.2.69? If so, I would need to be able to get the bin files.

Well, I researched a bit and the board, part # 40YPB5002UKAW, PBA Analog 4 PCS 3, does appear to be an older version. Went out on EBay and found the ATM4 U (universal) trunk board, which is a newer release, and have one of those coming. We'll see what that does when it gets here.......*sigh*. Nothing is ever easy! :0)

You can still "upgrade" to version 3.1.999 although it actually is a downgrade and then upgrade to the desired version.
After completing all upgrades set the box config to factory default via manager, then you have a clean database to work with.

I have looked on Avaya's support site and they don't have the 3.1.65 or 3.1.99 versions of IP Office anymore available. Any clue as to where I can go to find those?

I looked in the BIN folder of my manager installation (3_2_69), and there are three bin directories there:

IP403V1_99
IP403V2_99
IP403V3_2

I'm assuming that none of these correspond to the 3.1.99 load?

A IP403 doesn't need a 3.1.99 firmware as it is only for 406 systems.

Ok, in one of the previous posts someone mentioned.....

"You did step through the 3.1.99 loader didn't you? Odd things happen if you don't"

Which is why I was asking about the loads. I think my best bet here is to wait for the other ATM4U board and see what that one does.

*sigh* :0

So long since i touched a 403... especially at 3.1

Sorry for the bad steer. Did you check the alignment of the cards?

Hey Matt, yes the card was installed properly. I have a newer version, the ATM4 Universal coming and should be here by the 8th. Other than this issue, the 403 is working fine. THanks for the input.

Uhile you wait, have you tried the BRI card in slot b

Then try the atm in slot a

The 403 seems to only like bri in slot b

Hey Matt, makes no difference. Thinks its a PRI30 board. OY!

Hey guys! I just received and installed the ATM4U (universal - newer card than what I had) and its good! Came right up as an analog trunk interface. So, I am a few short minutes away from having my home office phone system back in business. Thanks for all the help on the forum! I did an erase config/erasenvconfig and a reboot - here is the latest config print. There are some additional things I notice in here, like the ATM4 modem installed, and the echo cancellation entries. Hopefully that won't interfere with it working correctly with plain old POTS trunks. Guess I will find out!

Cheers!
