I have a scenario where I have a voice vlan with DHCP being provided by the IP Office. The data vlan is being provided by Windows server. The phone is receiving the correct tag but the phone just sits on "Waiting for LLDP". I opened a monitor trace on the IP Office and see this error:

LLDP Is provided by the switch, so programm the lldp in the switch or turn it off.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

I just want to clarify that the phone sits waiting for LLDP and then it reboots and gets the vlan tag of 11 like it should. At this point it appears in the monitor trace that the phone sends a request and receives an IP address. The thing I am concerned about is that I am getting the DHCP messages stating that "DHCP: Unsupported option requested".

Put in a test switch, no VLAN's or anything just the system and the handset, I would wager it will work then. I think you have something wrong in the VLAN/DHCP helper/server programming, this will remove those from the equation :)

Never a good idea to have multiple DHCP servers. Run DHCP off of the Windows Server.

love me some stars

I have done that and you are right I have no problems that way. So it sounds like a configuration issue with the switch, correct?

The IP Office is configured to only provide DHCP to Avaya phones only. I understand about having only one DHCP server, but I guess during the sales process an Avaya rep stated that we could have use the IPO as a DHCP server for the phones and Windows server for the data vlan.

In theory yes you can, but then the switch must be programmed correctly, so the switchport the server is connected to should not be reachable at all from the voice VLAN and vice versa with the system port and the data VLAN :)
